HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE RECIPE

First: Apples are in the DIRTY DOZEN meaning they were most contaminated with pesticides! So BUY ORGANIC AND SOAK THEM!

Wash and soak in fruit wash (we use baking soda)
Cut out core
Add to pressure cooker with 1/2c-1c water
Cook on high for 5 min
Blend and let cool!

The sad: most artificial trees are made of PVC plastic which is known carcinogen. Many also include toxic phthalates, cadmium, lead & flame retardants. ALL THIS BECOMES DUST! That babies, kids and dogs walk through for weeks (maybe months!)

The ugly: many real trees have mold, are sprayed with pesticides & insecticides, and cause allergies. (Unless you buy from an organic farm)

More ugly: Many string lights are also made of PVC and LEAD (see prop 65 label.)

The good: No tree is perfect… but…IKEA sells PVC, lead, & flame retardant- free trees! And look for the ROHS label on string lights which monitors hazardous chemical levels. (Balsam hill has trees too $$)

I wasn’t always into the “watch out for toxins” life. I used to load our tree up with those scent sticks and leave them on the tree all year long in the box. 😂✌🏼Now I get a massive headache every year when we pull out decorations.

What we’re doing: we got an IKEA tree (because we couldn’t NOT have a tree!) that was PRELIT and was off the floor (because our 1 yr old would for sure try to pull it down 🙃) and WASHED our hands after we decorated and VACCUM often!

I’m a nurse of 10 years!
I’ve worked bedside for most of it. I’ve worked with all ages on almost every floor and I’ve specialized in adult oncology & pediatric hematology/oncology.

I have two amazing girls (1yr old and almost 4yr old) and the BEST husband of 8 years! You won’t see my girls on here much because I want to protect their privacy, but still want to share all the research I’ve done in motherhood.

HOW DID I GET HERE?📚🩺
Pregnancy & working in the hospital woke me up to how broken our “healthcare” system is. The “treatments” rarely fix you, but instead keep you in the system for life. My heart is to share daily actions that put you & your family’s health first so the “diagnosis” never happens in the first place. I also share holistic remedies our family uses for everyday sickness. (No medical advice 🙃) see about me highlight to learn more!

I forget how much we use this in our house. I just gave it to our 4 year old today when her stomach was hurting her and then I took it for my back pain.

We don’t use Tylenol.
We have Motrin as a last resort when nothing else works but it’s far from perfect and comes with risk as well. See stories for more!
